This year's conference will take place at University of Chinese Academy of Sciences, located in Huairou District, north of Beijing, China’s ancient capital. The department hosting the conference is Sino-Danish Center (SDC) and School of Economics and Management. SDC is a unique education and research partnership between all eight Danish universities, the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) and the University of Chinese Academy of Sciences (UCAS). The School of Economics and Management has taken a nationwide leading role in interdisciplinary education, integrating schools and institutes to facilitate fusion of scientific research and teaching.

Getting to Beijing
By Air
Beijing iBeijing is served by two major airports, providing convenient access for international and domestic travelers. It is the best option to get to the conference venue.​

Beijing Capital International Airport (PEK) — This is the main international airport serving Beijing and is located approx. 30 km (18 miles) northeast of Beijing city center and 48 km (30miles) away from the conference venue.

Airport Express (Railway): This is the top choice offering a great balance between time and cost apx.25RMB. It's unaffected by traffic congestion and takes about 20-30minutes to Dongzhimen Station.

Airport Shuttle Bus / Airport Bus: The Airport Shuttle Bus runs over ten lines from the airport to various parts of Beijing, takes about 60 to 90 minutes, depending on traffic. This is the one of the budget-friendly option, costing around 25 to 30RMB depending on destination.

Taxi: Taxis are available 24/7 and offer a door-to-door service. The journey takes about 40 to 90 minutes, heavily dependent on traffic. The fare ranges from 100 to 200 RMB depending on the specific destination and traffic.

Beijing Daxing International Airport (PKX) — Beijing Daxing International Airport serves as an aviation hub. It is located in Daxing district, approximately 46 km (28 miles) south of Beijing. The Daxing airport is almost 100 km away from the conference venue and is less recommended if guests are heading to the venue directly.

Daxing Airport Express (Railway) and transfer to subway: The Daxing airport express travels from Daxing Airport station to Caoqiao station, where connected with Subway Line 10 or 19, to reach your final destination. The total trip to central areas typically takes 40-60 minutes and cost apx. 35 RMB.

Airport Shuttle Bus: The Airport Shuttle Bus runs multiple lines go to key locations like Beijing West Railway Station, Beijing South Railway Station, and Xidan, takes about 60 to 90 minutes and will cost around 40 to 50RMB depending on destination.

Taxi: Taxis are available at the airport and can take you directly to the city center. The journey takes about 60 to 90 minutes and costs around 180 to 250 RMB depending on traffic.

Ride-Hailing: Services like Didi are also available and can be a convenient option, especially if you have luggage. The cost is similar to that of a taxi.

By Train / Rail
Travelling by train to Beijing is a convenient and scenic option.

High-Speed Rail (HSR): The fastest and most modern option connects to almost all major provinces and cities via the extensive national HSR network.

Conventional Speed Rail / Inter-city Trains: Slower than HSR but with broader network coverage, reaching more medium and small cities; generally more economical.

Beijing Suburban Railway
These are rail lines connecting central Beijing with its outer districts and surrounding areas.
While primarily for travel within Beijing, the metro is essential for connecting all the aforementioned railway stations and airports to final destinations in the city center. It is the necessary "last-mile" solution.

Urban Rail Transit (Metro): The Beijing Subway is one of the world's largest and busiest metro systems. It's the most convenient way to get around the city, especially for visitors. It covers the entire city, connecting all city districts, major railway stations, the airport, and tourist attractions.

Fare: You need to buy a ticket or use a transportation card for each journey. Fares are based on distance, starting at around ¥3.

Traveling by car to Beijing can be a flexible option.

Beijing is the hub of China's expressway network, often referred to as the "National Trunk Highway System. There are 7 main High Ways from G1 to G7 and other Secondary Expressways connect Beijing to other large cities in China. However, be aware that highways in China are toll roads, so be prepared to pay tolls along the way.

Traffic and Parking in Beijing can be quite varied depending on the area, so consider using public transport to avoid the hassle of heavy traffic or finding parking, especially during peak hours.

Do I Need a Visa to Enter China?
Whether you need a visa or not depends on your nationality and the purpose of your visit to China. As of mid-2025, China has implemented visa-exemption arrangements with a number of countries for short term stays up to 30 days (tourism, business, conferences etc.). For certain nationalities, China also has a transit without visa policy.
