Webinar- Digital technologies for energy efficiency and decarbonization in mining
IEA IETS Annex Task XVIII Sub Task 3 Webinar 2022 series

Date: 14.30-15.15 CET, October 26th 2022
Abstract: Several mining companies have set targets for net zero emissions by 2050 while there is an increase in the demand for minerals to facilitate the transition towards clean energy. Concurrently, digital technologies such as automation, Artificial Intelligence (AI), Machine Learning (ML), and Internet of Things (IoT) are transforming the way the mining and metals industry operates. An overview of some of the current digital technologies implemented in the mining sector and their reported benefits will be presented to highlight their potential impact on sustainability and decarbonization of the industry.
